Paris

We're in Paris! The amazing and fabulous Paris! We had a very early morning, woke up at 4:00am to walk, and catch a bus to the airport in Dubrovnik, but we finally arrived in this beautiful city around 10:30 this morning. Our hotel is in such a good location (thanks Matty), we're within walking distance to Le Tour Eiffel and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Today we went up the Eiffel tower, as Mel hadn't done it before. It has such spectacular views of the city, and was well worth the second visit!

Tomorrow we're heading to Euro Disney! I'm super excited about this!

Right now I have an essay to write so I can finally get it submitted and be finished with uni for the trimester. I will post some more photos up tonight for everyone to be jealous of!

Much love, Ali xx

More of Dubrovnik

Tomorrow we leave the beautiful and sunny Croatia and will be heading to Paris! Here are some more photos of our time in Dubrovnik

The horrid stairs we had to climb up to get on top of the wall

The view from on top of the wall

On top of the wall

A restaurant just for Dad

Dinner with a view...

...Said view

Today we caught the cable car up the mountain to see the Old Town from up high

Another random sign

We had drinks by the sea again today

The spectacular view from our seats at the bar

Some huge and very colourful birds that were in the main street today

They were so well trained

Not sure why there was also a cockatoo there

This one loved hanging out on his owner's belt

The view from the cable car

We leave tomorrow at the very undesirable time of 4:30am, so we've planned for an early night tonight. We ate pizza on the waters edge for dinner, and had icecream from a shop in the old town. Now we're back in our tiny little hotel room and Mel is entertaining herself with Siri on my new iPad.

The next time you hear from me, we'll be in beautiful Paris!

Much love, Ali xx

The Beautiful Island of Mljet

Yesterday we caught a boat from Dubrovnik over to see the island of Mljet. It was amazingly beautiful. The weather was perfect and the view matched!

Lunch on the water

We found the best little secluded beach

The beach was completely 'furnished' with deck chairs and umbrellas...just like the movies

Mini Brum - The super cute little convertible we hired for the day
Mel took a little while to get used to driving on the wrong side of the car

At the very end of the little island is this tiny little town

Lots of the little cars for hire

Dubrovnik

Croatia is absolutely stunning! It is such a beautiful place with such a relaxing vibe. We're staying just outside the walls of the Old Town and spent yesterday walking around the city and climbing up the walls. It has such a rich history and when you step inside the walls it feels like you've gone back in time.

The whole city inside the walls is not very big. The main street that goes from one end to the other is only 300 metres. There are heaps of beautiful churches and lots of tiny little alley ways.

This bar was built in to the side of the cliff

It was the perfect place to have afternoon drinks

The buildings are all old and the alley ways are so so cute

Breakfast in an alley

For a tiny place, there are heaps of huge churches

The harbour

The walled city is built right up against the edge of the water and incorporates the rock into its structure

One thing we've noticed is that nothing is fenced off the way it would be in Australia

All the streets are lined with these little cafes and restaurants

There are stairs everywhere! It certainly isn't a city to visit if you're in a wheelchair. There is no disabled option when getting around, if you can't walk up the stairs, you can't go there, which is a shame, because all the best bits are up high!

Like this view.... If you couldn't get up the stairs, you would miss out on this view!

This is the place we sat for our afternoon drinks. Buza bar, built into the cliff
